The God of Thunder had his world premiere last Sunday April 17th in Sydney and we had the honour to watch the film at the venue. This is our review for this big superhero blockbuster film, and remember there is no absolute true in any review, you have to go to your local cinema and watch the film, there is no better critic than yourself!

Director and actor Kenneth Branagh brings to us the adaptation of this Marvel Super hero to the big screen, with our fair dinkun australian superstar Chris Hemsworth playing the lead role of “Thor” alongside the great Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Rene Russo, Tom Hiddleston and Jaimie Alexander.

The film centers the story in the exile of Thor to the Earth and the conflict between he and his father and brother Loki, because of his arrogant and impulsive behavior, which disturbed the peace between the Asgardians and their ancient foes, the Frost Giants of Jotunheim. This issue makes Thor been punished after almost assume the throne of Asgard from Odin.

The film, follows the code of every film with the unique style of the Marvel franchise with lot of references to the previous films like Ironman, Hulk, to the upcoming “The Avengers”, and obviously with Marvel’s king Stan lee having his classic cameo “somewhere” during the movie.

In therms of acting, Chris Hemsworth does a good job as The God of Thunder, acting like a barbarian, a true warrior, like he was born to play the character. Furthermore, he shows a funny side in some scenes thanks to his co-stars as well. It’s not easy to play a super hero and our Aussie stars does a terrific job.

The film itself has a great art direction specially in the design of Asgard with so many details very close to the artworks from some of the classic Marvel comic book series. Moreover, the special effects of the film and the 3D worked very well confirming that the latest state of the art was used to made the film.

Action is not missed in the film, they are epic battles in Asgard and the Earth during the film, some classic villains like Thor’s enemy “The Destroyer” and of course with The God of Thunder using his favourite weapon, the marvelous hammer “Mjöllnir”.

Thor is a fun movie, and perfectly linked with Ironman I, II and The Incredible Hulk and for sure will be linked to captain America as well…all the elements are there, ready for the biggest super hero film of all times: The Avengers.

Kenneth Branagh’s “Thor” is a must watch film for all ages and specially for the comic book fans…pure and fun entertainment!, and please DON’T FORGET TO WATCH THE FILM UNTIL THE END OF THE CREDITS…you will see a really nice surprise there and also we invite you to check our full coverage “On The Spot” of the world premiere of “Thor” held at Event cinemas, George Street in Sydney last Sunday 17 of April.

The God of Thunder will hit cinemas in 3D on May 6, 2011.

Remember, our reviews don’t have the absolute truth, actually we share the idea that there is no review 100% accurate, because we think that everyone has to be their own critic and the best way to do a review of a film, a concert, etc is doing it yourself, going and experiencing all “on the spot”…so don’t wait and go to see “THOR” and give us your personal opinion of the film.
