BURBANK, CA, April 19, 2011 – Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Oscar® winner Marion Cotillard (“La Vie en Rose”) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt have joined the cast of “The Dark Knight Rises,” the epic conclusion to the Dark Knight legend.

Cotillard will appear as Miranda Tate, a Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne resume his father’s philanthropic endeavors for Gotham.

Gordon-Levitt will play John Blake, a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon.

The film reunites the actors with Christopher Nolan, who recently directed them in the award-winning blockbuster “Inception.”

The director stated, “When you collaborate with people as talented as Marion and Joe, it comes as no surprise that you would want to repeat the experience. I immediately thought of them for the roles of Miranda and Blake, and I am looking forward to working with both of them again.”

Heading the cast of “The Dark Knight Rises,” Christian Bale stars as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The main cast also includes Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle and Tom Hardy as Bane.

Nolan will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote with Jonathan Nolan, from a story by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer. Christopher Nolan will also produce the film with his longtime producing partner, Emma Thomas, and Charles Roven.

“The Dark Knight Rises” is slated for release in Australian Cinemas July 19, 2012. The film will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

HAHAHAHAHA…HAHAHHA…HAHAHAHHAHA…

This is the part where everyone says: WHAAAAAAAAAT?…Because we just have official confirmation of one of the biggest secrets surronding the production of Christopher Nolan`s “The Dark Knight Rises”. Teenage pop star (no comments) Justin Bieber has been confirmed to join the film as Dick Grayson/Robin. YEP IT`S TRUE.

Bieber is also playing a role in Ashton Kutcher`s new film WHAT WOULD KENNY DO?.

We don`t know how Nolan could agreed on this, but maybe the preassure from the big sponsors and companies involved finally had results. Let`s hope Nolan does a great job still.

If you are Crying, and jumping to google to confirm this news, don`t bother, because this is an April Fool`s joke…Got you! (Sorry we know this is really cruel) 😛

Joseph Gordon-Levitt will portray Alberto Falcone, also known as the villain the Holiday Killer, a serial killer who murders his victims on holidays. Falcone is the son of crime boss Carmine Falcone (played by Tom Wilkinson in Batman Begins), bringing Nolan’s trilogy full-circle and basing the film pretty much in Nolan’s favorite and most referenced Batman stories: The Long Halloween.

Still, with no word from Warner Bross., there’s no word if Alberto will actually become Holiday like in The Long Halloween or just be more of a general nuisance to Batman, like his father was.

So with this news, the confirmed new characters so far are: Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) , Bane (Tom Hardy) and Alberto Falcone (Joseph Gordon-Levitt).

The Dark Knight Rises, is scheduled for release on July 20, 2012.

UPDATED:  EW is now saying Variety is incorrect. While he has a role, the magazine says it’s not Alberto Falcone. Let the speculation start again 😦

Russell Brand has announced he is coming to Australia in April for his latest flick, “Arthur.”

Before Russell’s visit to Australia in June last year, he took to Twitter to announce, “Australia. Get ready. We got our Queen on your money, gonna put me genes in your tummies.”

Brand will arrive in Sydney on April 13, in time to attend the Australian premiere of “Arthur”, held in Sydney on April 14.

Arthur, is directed by Jason Winer, the cast includes Russell Brand, Jennifer Garner, Helen Mirren and Greta Gerwig.

The official synopsis:  Irresponsible charmer Arthur Bach (Brand) has always relied on two things to get by: his limitless fortune and the good sense of lifelong nanny Hobson (Mirren) to keep him out of trouble. Now he faces his biggest challenge–choosing between an arranged marriage that will ensure his lavish lifestyle or an uncertain future with the one thing money can’t buy, Naomi (Gerwig), the only woman he has ever loved. With Naomi’s inspiration and some unconventional help from Hobson, Arthur will take the most expensive risk of his life and finally learn what it means to become a man, in this re-imagining of the classic romantic comedy “Arthur.”

Arthur is set for on April 8th 2011

On the other hand, Katy Perry, now wife of the British comedian warned the aussie ladies to “stay off her man” because she was also coming to Australia and would get any offenders. Given that Katy will kick off the Australian leg of her “California Dreams” tour in late April, we believe this warning still stands. Maybe they will attend together to the premiere?

Another names for the film are Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, Kate Mara, Charlotte Riley, and Gemma Arterton are also testing for female roles.
