Last Monday March, 28 we had the unique opportunity of be part of the Q&A with film director and mega rockstar Rob Zombie. Our friends from Popcorn taxi organized a great venue at Event Cinemas Bondi junction with a full house waiting for the screening of the film “The Devil’s reject” and for the chance to meet the man behind the camera. Rob Zombie was also in town as part of Soundwave festival, where he performed the day before in Sydney`s Olympic park.

The screening of the film was on time, with a loyal crowd of fans enjoying every second of the 2005’s film. The movie,  written and directed by Rob Zombie,  reunites the homicidal members of the Firefly family, tracing their bloody flight from an outlaw sheriff hell-bent on revenge.

Ambushed at their isolated home by Sheriff Wydell (William Forsythe) and a crack squad of heavily armed men, the Firefly family wake up one morning with guns-a-blazing – yet only Otis (Bill Moseley) and his sister, Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie), manage to escape the barrage of bullets unharmed. Hiding out in a backwater motel, the wanted siblings wait to rendezvous with their errant father, Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig), killing whoever happens to stand in their way. But as the body count mounts higher, Sheriff Wydell decides to take the law into his own hands, paving the way for one of the most originally depraved and electrifying showdowns in cinematic history.

After the film Rob Zombie himself jumped on stage and started answering question for all, with his unique style and with a high grade of proffesionalism. A funny momment of the venue was when one of his fans did the question that every fan wanted: Can i have a photo with you and a couple of autographs?…because I have to go and my mother is waiting for me outside. Rob with no worries at all immediately called the fan on stage and signed with photo included, showing the public that he is a real star and a true nice guy. Moreover he said at that moment: “No worries guys, at the end of this we will do more photos”…and he really did, staying for more than half an hour doing photos, autographs and talking with every single person there: What an awesome venue!. Furthermore, his band mate and ex-Marilyn Manson’s guitarist Johnny 5 was also there as one more of the crowd and he also spoke and posed for photos with everyone.

Speaking about the Q&A itself, everyone was happy, Rob didn’t avoid any question, explaining why he doesn’t like sequels, working with his “hot wife” Sheri Moon Zombie  or the funny story about his friend Nicolas Cage and his comic books.

A really unique venue…Good one from Popcorn Taxi!
